Bouncing fiction

"Orphan" depicts the sadness of "Goth" until the middle, but at the end, the fictional nature of the film leaps forward. Building on the careful depiction up until that point, the film unfolds at a rollercoaster-like speed with an earth-shattering, spectacular scene.

It is revealed that Orphan has a hormone disorder that causes stunted growth, and that she is in fact 33 years old. Looking back at the somewhat mysterious behavior up until this point, it is a surprising conclusion, as it turns out that Orphan's desires were the driving force behind everything else.

However, the setting of a 33-year-old who looks like a 9-year-old seems quite far-fetched. Even though he has killed people who knew the situation, there is no way he could have killed that many people. Furthermore, there is no way he could have engaged in espionage-like activities such as rewriting past history. However, this is a depiction that only a "creative work" can express. Logically, "outside" the frame of a movie and things not written in a novel, "between the lines," are "nothing," which means "infinite."

In the fictional world of a movie, it is possible for a 33-year-old to look like a 9-year-old. It is this leap of imagination that makes Orphan a special work among the many "child horror" movies out there.
