"I'm Not There" Synopsis

Poet, Jack Reacher, movie star, revolutionary, vagabond, rock star. Woody, the young black boy who grabbed his guitar and hopped on a freight train to go on a journey. Jack, who suddenly appeared in Greenwich Village, New York, breathing fresh air into the world of socially conscious folk music. Jude, who broke away from the world of folk music to transform into a rock revolutionary, was denounced as a "traitor" by his old fans. Six Dylans, each with a different name and age, are projections of the various personalities of the real Bob Dylan. Todd Haynes, a genius director whose new film " May December " (23), nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, has also been well-received. His unique, cold-hearted perspective on humanity and his ability to delve into the inner world of the audience are still alive and well in his new film. Since his debut film "Poison" (1991), Haynes has taken up dark subjects that Hollywood's major studios avoid, approaching the essence of society. In that sense, his work is challenging.

Haynes has directed ten feature films to date, but his most challenging work was 2007's "I'm Not There." It is based on the life of Bob Dylan , a musician who is still active today and can be called a "living legend." However, it is not just a biographical film. Bob Dylan himself does not appear in the film, but it is an attempt to tell the story of Dylan through the drama of six people who could be considered his alter egos.

Haynes first approached Dylan's manager and obtained his cooperation. Dylan's request was to stop describing him as a "genius" or "the most representative musician of our time."
