A story based on a true story that was featured in a magazine article

You may think this is a fantastical story, but it all started with an article published in WIRED magazine in 2013. A teacher who wanted to change the current situation surrounding children came across a video about a "learning method that makes use of children's spontaneity" and tried to put it into practice by imitating what he saw. As a result, many of his students discovered the fun and joy of learning, and their academic test scores, which had been the lowest in the country, improved dramatically.

The contents of this article can still be read online, so if you are interested in the movie, please check it out. Since this article was written in 2013, the points about the possibilities brought about by the spread of personal computers and the Internet (the information revolution) may seem like a thing of the past, but the truth that knowledge that you arrive at and acquire on your own, out of a desire to know, is far more meaningful than knowledge that is imposed on you by others, is surely a universal truth that has not changed from 10 years ago to the present.

And for children living in harsh environments, independent learning becomes even more important. The attitude of setting and solving problems for oneself and seeking to grasp a better tomorrow can itself become a compass for one way of life.

The movie "Radical" is not a screenplay that simply follows the original story. Rather than focusing too much on what they accomplished, it expands the story by placing emphasis on the trust and bond formed between Mr. Juarez and his students, and above all, the process in which the children's eyes become filled with curiosity and enthusiasm and shine more and more as a result of the revolution in teaching.

On top of that, the creators conducted even more thorough research to delve deeper into the subject matter, building a sense of realism and elevating the basic theme of a chemical reaction between teacher and student into something more profound and compelling.
