"Superman" synopsis

Clark Kent works an ordinary job at the major media company, the Daily Planet, but his true identity is Superman, a hero who protects people. He fights every day to protect and save everyone living on our beloved Earth, children and adults alike, and is loved by everyone. Meanwhile, his nemesis, the brilliant scientist and billionaire Lex Luthor, sees Superman as a threat to Earth and is working in the shadows to unleash a meticulous plan that will involve the entire world.

The greatness of "Superman" as seen by a screenwriter

Thank you for your hard work. My name is Yoshiki Kato, and I'm a writer. I usually work as The Game scriptwriter, and at the end of last year I published a collection of short stories, "Even if a light truck crashes into us, we won't stop loving each other." I'm a very low-ranking writer, but there was a movie that really took me by surprise. I'm writing this column on a bit of an emergency basis. The movie in question is "Superman" (25), which is currently receiving rave reviews.

Normally, here at CINEMORE, I write about movies, focusing on the director's comments and the production background, but this time I would like to write about the greatness of this movie from the perspective of a screenwriter.

That's because... of course there are films with more elaborate scripts than this one. However, I think this is extremely rare and amazing that it's a Hollywood blockbuster, and a film that uses a character as famous as Superman. The production costs for the film alone were in the hundreds of billions of yen, and when you consider the scale of the business that revolves around this film, even more money is involved (the The Game industry, which is my main field, is probably a few hundredths the size of this film in terms of budget). In any case, it's a film of a rare scale. When it comes to making such a film, I think this was a perfect script.

So, in this article, I'll be writing about the parts of the story that I personally found amazing, especially the two parts that were just the right level of difficulty: "You can recreate it if you try hard, but it's incredibly difficult to do so." I hope you'll stick with me until the end.
