4. "Shadow Stepping" (19) Director: Tetsuo Shinohara 112 minutes

Kitamura has continued to deliver consistent performances in many films, including "OVER DRIVE" (2018), in which he co-starred with Higashide Masahiro and Arata Mackenyu, "Waiting for Spring" (2018), in which he captivated viewers with his spectacular basketball scenes, "12 Suicidal Teens" (2019), in which he competed against promising young actors such as Sugisaki Hana, Arata Mackenyu, Takasugi Mahiro, Kuroshima Yuina, and Hashimoto Kanna, and "You Shine in the Moonlight" (2019), in which he co-starred with Nagano Mei.

He has taken on new challenges, such as appearing in animated films like "HELLO WORLD" (2019) and "Our Seven Day War" (2019), as well as the drama "The Grass Is Always Greener on the Neighborhood" (2018) in which he plays a gay man, and has become more developed as an actor. He will now be facing an even more difficult role in "Kagefumi," starring Yamazaki Masayoshi.

The story is about a thief called "Nobi-shi" (Yamazaki) who sneaks into homes when the homeowner is asleep and begins to investigate the truth behind murder cases. As he conducts his investigation, his own brutal past comes to light... Kitamura plays the role of a "partner" who adores the protagonist, providing a breath of fresh air in the dark and serious worldview, and also shows off a more mature performance when he grabs the protagonist. Once the secret he is hiding is revealed, your impression of the entire film will change dramatically.

In this way, Kitamura's reliability can be felt in the fact that, even when entrusted with the role of a technical character who is not easy to handle, he does not look out of place even when surrounded by such distinguished veteran actors as Ono Machiko, Takito Kenichi, Tsurumi Tatsugo, and Otake Shinobu.

Incidentally, during the music programs and live concerts broadcast at the time of the film's release, Yamazaki and Kitamura performed a special collaboration in which they performed a duet of the film's theme song, "Kagefumi," which attracted a lot of attention.
