What I think now after 10 years as an actor

Q: Having been an actor for over 10 years, what is the current stage in your life?

Okayama: I think the speed and quality of growth has changed.

In the early days, I was growing no matter what I did, so it was easy to stay motivated. But gradually, it became more difficult to expand my horizons and increase my drawers. That's why I'm thinking, ``What should I do next?''

However, the fact that it gets harder is interesting in itself. I started thinking about things from a bird's-eye view, thinking, ``How should I conquer the game?'' and things that interested me changed...I feel like something new has begun since my 10th year.

Q: Is the mindset of thinking from a bird's-eye view a creed that is important to you?

Okayama: That's right. Because you're working so hard, before you know it, negative emotions and the obsessive feeling that you can't make a mistake are born. However, I believe that both manufacturing and acting are essentially an extension of "play."

My theory is that ``good things don't necessarily lead to good things.'' For example, in acting, it's not something that always accelerates in a positive snowball manner.

If you look at it subjectively, it may be an incident, or it may be a mistake or something that cannot be undone. However, even if you don't know the strategy yourself, there are quite a few things that you can turn into "entertainment" if you look at them from a bird's-eye view. I don't know what will make it interesting, so it's important to take a look at it once.

Q: Looking at Mr. Okayama's career, I see that he has been active in both major and independent projects, and has continued to appear in works. I was wondering how you make an effort to continue to be chosen, and it seems like this is the underlying idea.

Okayama: The same goes for "thinking from a bird's-eye view", and I think the face is just right (lol).

There are many beautiful actors, both male and female, but they shine overwhelmingly in certain scenes, but depending on the work they stand out too much and it is difficult to use them properly.

When I think about that, I think I have a visual style that can sway in a variety of directions.
