Characters of the legendary comedian Sensaburo Fukami

Q: I also work as a TV director, and four years ago I made a documentary about Master Fukami and Takeshi called ``Takeshi's Birth ~Oira no Shishou and Asakusa~''.

Alone: I saw that. It starts with Takeshi's tap dance.

Q: Yes. At that time, I did a lot of research, but there are many mysteries surrounding Sensaburo Fukami, and it is unclear how he came to Asakusa. What kind of research did you do to create the Fukami-san statue?

Alone: I read a book about Master Fukami (` `Asakusa Final Exit - Asakusa Comedian Sensaburo Fukami ''), and I also read a lot of books by Hisashi Inoue (`` Asakusa France-za Time ''). I did. I can understand some of the facts from these materials, but in the end I don't really understand Mr. Fukami's personality. Only a small amount of footage remains, and we can only imagine what his private life was like.

That's why Takeshi took the time to ask me about Master Fukami's personality. The easiest word to describe his personality is "shy". In any case, he never praises his disciples. No matter how popular Takeshi was during the manzai boom, he has never received any praise. When Takeshi went to see Master Fukami, he was like, ``Hey, what are you doing here, you bastard! You idiot!'' and ``Let's eat some ramen, you idiot!'' Anyway, he was shy. Takeshi said, ``My master's feelings and what he says are all the opposite.'' Through that story, I got to see a lot of his personality.

Netflix movie “Asakusa Kid” will be distributed exclusively worldwide from December 9th (Thursday)

I think I'm a completely different type of person than Master Fukami, but I can kind of understand why he's so arrogant towards his juniors. I also cannot honestly praise my juniors, whom I adore, nor can I honestly give them pocket money. That's why I add a vague element, saying, ``I'm going to give you money, so make a beautiful story about how I gave you this money, and then talk about it sometime in a few years.'' It's common for people to say things like that out of embarrassment, so I could imagine how they felt.
