72nd Berlin International Film Festival Silver Bear Award (Best Actor/Best Screenplay) 2 wins! We are inviting 20 CINEMORE e-mail newsletter members to the preview of the movie "Mrs. Cournas vs. George W. Bush" (released on Friday, May 3rd)!


The film is based on the true story of a German mother's fight to retrieve her innocent son, who was imprisoned at the infamous Guantanamo in 1786. One month after the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001. Murat, the eldest son of the Kurnas family of Turkish immigrants living in Bremen, Germany, is suspected of being a ``Taliban'' while traveling to Pakistan, and is imprisoned in a camp at the US military base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. His mother, Rabie, runs to save her son, but the police and government do nothing. Desperate to survive, Rabie visits human rights lawyer Bernhard, whom she found in the telephone directory, and upon his advice, ends up filing a lawsuit against President Bush in the United States Supreme Court...
