The film is based on the true story of a German mother's fight to retrieve her innocent son, who was imprisoned at the infamous Guantanamo in 1786. One month after the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001. Murat, the eldest son of the Kurnas family of Turkish immigrants living in Bremen, Germany, is suspected of being a ``Taliban'' while traveling to Pakistan, and is imprisoned in a camp at the US military base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
