There are many directors who turn their experiences into films. And the stronger and more direct that feeling is, the more the work shines... It won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival and was distributed in North America by A24. Lucas Dong's ``CLOSE'', which received rave reviews including an Academy Award nomination for Best International Feature Film, is just such a film. He began writing the script in his early teens based on the hardships he faced at school. What kind of thoughts did you have in creating a film that captures the delicate feelings of young boys while also reflecting on your own past?

Old movie "Gremlins"

July 16th is actor Phoebe Cates' birthday. She played the heroine Kate in the blockbuster science fiction black comedy Gremlins(1984). The shocking 55-second line in which Kate confesses ``why she hates Christmas'' is so famous that the studio initially requested its deletion. Director Joe Dante stubbornly refused the request, and Dante's enthusiasm moved Spielberg, who tried to persuade the studio to accept the request.
