Released in Japan in 1989, the gem of a masterpiece that became a symbol of the mini-theater boom, "Bagdad Cafe," has been restored in 4K under the supervision of director Percy Adlon and is returning to Japanese screens. The vast sky, the dry desert air, the mysterious light and the little magic -- the lonely and somehow nostalgic scenery is vividly brought back to life with the classic song "Calling You," which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

December 13th is Christopher Plummer's birthday. In All the Money in the World(2017), he quickly replaced Kevin Spacey, who had dropped out, with only a month left until the film's release. Plummer's sophisticated performance was praised, and he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor at the age of 88, breaking the record for the oldest person nominated in an acting category.
