It's a masterpiece.

``The Door in the Floor'' is based on John Irving's novel `` A Widow's Year ''. Irving is a best-selling author who has gained popularity for his unique worldview where tragedy and comedy coexist, and many of his works have been made into films, including `` The World According to Garp '' (1982) and `` Hotel New Hampshire '' (1984). He also wrote the screenplay for `` The Cider House Rules '' (1999), directed by Lasse Hallström, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Intrigued by the letter, Irving invited Williams to his home along with Ted Hope and Anne Carrie, producers of the indie production Good Machine, and they agreed to work together on the condition that Williams would direct. sold the film rights to. And it's only $1. You can see how one of America's greatest writers fell in love with a young man named Todd Williams.
