Krzysztof Kieślowski continued to depict “fate”

Speaking of Kieślowski, I think he is an author who continued to depict "fate". If you take a quick look at his filmography, you'll understand his work, including `` White Love '' and `` Red Love ,'' which depict ``fate'' as well as ``Blue Love.'' The theme of "fate" emerges from this series of works.

Irène Jacob plays "two roles in one" and depicts the strange fates of two women born in France and Poland, who are exactly the same in " The Two Veronicas " (1991), as well as a production based on the Bible's Ten Commandments. In the TV drama series `` Decalogue '' (1989-90), as the lives of people intersect, the number of moments where one can't help but feel a sense of destiny increases with each episode. Going back further, `` Coincidence '' (1981) tells of the ``three patterns'' of fate that a young man follows as he attempts to board a train.

“Dekalogue” preview

In addition, one of the projects that Kieślowski himself was unable to make into a film was created as `` Scars of a Beautiful Fate '' (2005) by director Danis Tanovic. The original title is ``L'enfer,'' which means ``Inferno'' in French, but as you can see, the Japanese title is prefixed with the word ``fate.''

So, what is the “fate” depicted in this work, “Blue Love”? It is a sudden loss and a recovery from it. As mentioned above, the beginning of this film is extremely shocking. Although it is only speculation as the moment of the accident was not captured, the car in which Julie and her family were traveling probably lost control due to a malfunction, veered off the road and crashed into a large tree. This is how loss comes to Julie. The word "fate" is often used in romantic contexts, but while it can be dramatic, it is not always comedic. There are many tragic fates. And we all know that these fateful moments can happen anytime, anywhere. Comedy and tragedy are two sides of the same coin.

Each person has a different way of dealing with this reality. In Julie's case, she tries to come to terms with reality by getting rid of things related to her past. In other words, they try to separate ``the person I was before the accident'' and ``the person I was after the accident.'' However, as long as her past memories exist and she is trapped by them, she cannot be free. Julie's husband was a famous musician. In her mind, the melody of the "unfinished concerto" left behind by her husband continues to echo.
