Cute Drew and Clever Jimmy

A workaholic career woman and a die-hard Red Sox fan fall in love... "Fever Pitch" is a film that allows you to fully enjoy the skilled performances of the two leading actors.

Drew Barrymore plays Lindsay, a career woman who tries to understand her baseball-loving boyfriend. It goes without saying that she is the queen of 2000s romantic comedies. In Japan, this film was released as the third installment of the popular kiss series starring Drew Barrymore, following "A Celebrity Kiss" ( 1999 ) and " 50 First Dates " (2004). Until then, she had often played girlish roles, but in this film she plays a life-sized modern woman, bursting with her cute charm. The scene where she says, "I always eat leftovers, so my nickname is 'Seagull'" and imitates the cry of a seagull is so cute that you will be in agony.

Jimmy Fallon plays Lindsay's boyfriend Ben, who prioritizes the Red Sox and manipulates her. He is a versatile comedian who has hosted the American comedy show "Saturday Night Live" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and other shows. Jimmy fits the pattern of talented comedians who show off their natural comedic sense, such as Billy Crystal in "When When Harry Met Sally... Met Sally" (1989) and Adam Sandler in " The Wedding Singer " (1998). Ben, who is an adult but also has the innocence of a boy, is reminiscent of Tom Hanks in " Big " (1988). Incidentally, after the movie was released, Red Sox Nation (fans who are passionate about the Red Sox and hate their arch rival, the Yankees) selected Fallon as an honorary member. However, Fallon is actually a Yankees fan.
