British Dracula's Blood

In the second episode, the Count finally sets out on a voyage to England. Up to this point, the story has been consistent with the original, but the story begins to resemble a locked room mystery involving passengers other than the Count. Sailors and passengers go missing or are killed, and of course it goes without saying that the culprit is decided to be the Count... Jonathan Aris, best known for his role as Detective Anderson in " SHERLOCK ," plays the captain of the ship where the story takes place. Anderson was a comic relief character who was at odds with Sherlock, but Captain Sokolov is a courageous and good man who stands up to Dracula with Agatha. I quite like Jonathan Aris, and every time I see him in a work, I pay attention to him, but I think it's rare for him to play a role like this. By the way, in `` Rogue One: A Star Wars Story '', although he participates in a meeting of the Rebellion, he refuses to believe in the existence of the Galactic Empire's superweapon, the Death Star, and even declares that the Rebellion is over and fights. He played a minor role as a lawmaker who took a negative attitude toward the government. I have a strong image of that kind of character.

Another from "SHERLOCK", Mark Gatiss, also makes an appearance. His character, Renfield, is Dracula's servant, and in the original work he was kept in a mental hospital, but in this work he works as a lawyer and helps Dracula live in London (more on this later). The fact that Renfield is a lawyer reminds me of the plot of `` Dracula ,'' in which Bela Lugosi plays Dracula. In that version, Renfield's role at the beginning was to visit a count in Transylvania, where he was made Dracula's servant and had to take care of him after he went to England and lived there. Anyway, Mark Gatiss played the role of Mycroft, Sherlock's older brother who wields tremendous power as a government official in ``SHERLOCK,'' but somehow he seems to be playing a role that he likes. I feel like I chose Mycroft and Renfield because I like them...

Of course, it is also worth noting that elements of Dracula that have been seen in previous film adaptations are sprinkled here and there. The Dracula that Jonathan meets for the first time is a wizened and wrinkled old man, and it is interesting to see how he becomes younger and younger as the guests become weaker and weaker day by day, until the complete visual of Dracula is completed. The make-up and gown she wears are reminiscent of the 1992 version played by Gary Oldman.

I can't forget the way their eyes turn red in front of their prey. This is famous for the version played by Christopher Lee in Hammer Film's ` `Dracula the Vampire ,'' but I think some may also be aware of this as a British-made film adaptation of Dracula. This work attempts to depict a modern version of Dracula while retaining classical aspects, and was created at a time when Universal's image of Dracula was still very strong. The film incorporates powerful actors, make-up, and a speedy tempo into a classical worldview, creating a wonderful portrayal of Dracula. I think it's descended from the Hammer version that brought it back to England (by the way, Hammer also produced Sherlock Holmes works).
