Immortal content called Dracula

As a result of the confrontation on the ship in the second episode, Dracula loses consciousness underwater. When he woke up and arrived at the beach, what was waiting for him was the headlights of many cars and searchlights from helicopters. Dracula is confused even if he is not burned by artificial lighting... He slept in the ocean for a whopping 123 years before landing in England in 2020.

Thus, in the third and final episode, the modern part, which can be called the main theme of this series, finally begins. However, this is not a modern part where the setting of Sherlock Holmes is relocated to modern London. The same Dracula who lived in the 19th century has truly come to the present day, 123 years later. This development is possible only because Dracula is immortal. It begins with a story that follows the original story, but in the middle there are some irregular developments, and the setting shifts to the present day. It's really smart.

In modern times, Dracula is waiting for Dr. Zoe Van Helsing, a descendant of Sister Agatha's relatives. Agatha's last name was Van Helsing, and she was the character equivalent of the professor in How to Defeat Dracula. And that will is inherited by modern-day Zoe. Dolly Wells plays Agatha. Naturally, Dracula sees traces of his former nemesis in her, who looks just like Agatha.

Now that it's a modern part, `` SHERLOCK '' explodes, and as usual, Dracula uses modern tools more and more. Although he is imprisoned in Dr. Van Helsing's facility, he uses a tablet to contact an outside lawyer, but the lawyer who is called at this time is Renfield, played by the aforementioned Mark Gatiss. The Count is released on the basis that ``It's not illegal to live for over 100 years, but it is illegal to imprison someone for no reason,'' and vampires are released into modern-day London. After moving to a house in London (probably the mansion he was considering purchasing in 1897), he uses dating apps every night to search for prey, but because he can find food without walking, he lacks exercise. It's funny how he is forced to train to maintain his body shape even though he is immortal.

It took 123 years for Dracula to arrive, but we can say that Dracula has arrived in the very world he was aiming for. He aimed for England from Eastern Europe in order to aim for more prey and to control everything by controlling London, the center of the world, but above all, he yearned for a more sophisticated world. there were. In the first episode, he complains about the "taste" of the local residents of Transylvania, and although his words were strongly accented at first, by sucking Jonathan Harker's blood, he became perfect English, and his behavior changed into that of a noble gentleman. To go. London must have been the world of the future for the Count, who lived quietly in an old castle, unsatisfied with food and unable to find anything that matched his intellectual level. Perhaps that is why the contemporary part of this work is so convincing. No matter how much it is arranged, it is fundamentally faithful to the original work.

As I felt when working on ``SHERLOCK,'' it's amazing how a well-known character that is so iconic and well-worn can be rewritten in a fresh way like this. What's more, this time she doesn't have a unique and unique visual, but a very classic and royal image with her black hair and a ballgown that everyone is familiar with. I think that many creators have tried to escape from Bela Lugosi's image of Dracula in the many visual adaptations that have been made, but 2020's Dracula goes back to basics and uses gimmicks in the development of the story. It seems to have breathed in a new and mysterious atmosphere. The combination of taste and immortal character that created "SHERLOCK" was perfect. Count Dracula is still alive after 123 years.
