An adventure just crossing the garden and heading home

It was reported that Rick Moranis would be returning to acting with the new movie ``Micro Kids'', so last time I introduced my personal favorite of Moranis' movies, ``Spaceballs'' , but this time I will introduce the movie ``Micro Kids'' and its About the series. I watched it only when I was a child, and only had a fragmentary image of the first and second movies, but when I watched all three together, they became smaller, then bigger, and then smaller again. There are many ups and downs and it is interesting. ``Micro Kids'' is actually a Japanese title, and the original title of the first film was ``Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.'' Throughout the series, the subject of the title is always Wayne Salinsky, played by Moranis, a scientist who continues to mess around with his inventions.

Wayne Szalinski, who had been working for many years on research on material reduction and the development of equipment to make it happen, was just one step away from completing the hurdles and was made fun of at university for his utopian research. However, while he is away, an accident caused by the children causes the device to malfunction, and Wayne's daughter Emmy, son Nick, and the Thompson brothers Russ and Ron, who live next door, are shrunk down to an extremely small size. While the children are confused, Wayne, who has just been humiliated at university, returns home. Frustrated by his fruitless research, he destroys the equipment and destroys the equipment without knowing that the children are missing. I put it in a garbage bag and put it out in the garden. The children manage to escape from the garbage bag, but they have to cross a garden that has turned into a dense jungle in order to return home and seek help from Wayne.

Directed by Joe Johnston, this is his debut film. He was one of the notable special effects staff members of the original Star Wars trilogy, playing a major role in mechanical and character design, and worked with concept artist Ralph McQuarrie on the design of the bounty hunter Boba Fett. He is also the person who created the costume. The Imperial army's ground weapon AT-AT and the image sketch of Jedi Master Yoda are impressive, and the illustrations are wonderful. He joined the project for ``Micro Kids'' later due to a change of director, so there are not many impressive gadgets on screen, but there are ants larger than a horse that the children encounter in a huge garden, The special effects elements, such as the flying worker bees, are well done, and the large-scale, real-life set clearly expresses the idea of what it would look like if it were made smaller. The gimmick of the scale of the terrifying jungle, where dangers descend one after another, is actually nothing more than untended grass that has grown freely, is an action-adventure story typical of Johnston's work, which seems similar to the later Jumanji . I think it is.
