His sullen voice, his slanted gaze, the gap between his accomplished acting and his immature "boyishness." Isn't Kento Hayashi an actor who will never age?

29 years old, born in 1990. He started his acting career in 2007 and is a popular actor who leads the Japanese film and drama world, but there is still an innocent look on his face. Although he is a master craftsman who shows mature and highly accomplished acting in all of his works, he still retains traces of his childhood. Many people have been fascinated by its indescribable "magical power."

Hayashi, who was born in Shiga Prefecture, was apparently scouted in Tokyo during a school trip as a junior high school student, and this anecdote makes sense when you look at him himself. Ever since his first appearance as an actor in ``Battery'' (2007), he has shown off his natural aura. It was truly a ``diamond in the rough.''

In Hayashi's career, there are many representative series such as ``Arakawa Under the Bridge'' (12), ``Ossan's Love'' (18), and ``HiGH & LOW'' (16), but this time I will deliberately focus on the works in which he appeared in other works. We carefully selected 10 books from among them. From sports movies that make use of his superior physical abilities to sensual works that exude adult charm, we hope you will be immersed in the ``world'' he creates.

1. “Battery” (07)

This is Kento Hayashi's film debut and his first leading role. The popular novel by Atsuko Asano, which has also been made into a drama and an anime, has been adapted into a film by director Yojiro Takita, who directed The Gift (2008), which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film the following year.

A youth sports drama that refreshingly depicts a baseball genius boy who moves to a peaceful town in Okayama prefecture due to his father's transfer, and how he meets friends and grows up. Hayashi has such a commanding presence that it's hard to believe that this is his film debut, and his star quality is already overflowing at this point.

Not only the physical persuasive power of Hayashi, who embodies the perfect form of a genius pitcher, but also the mental immaturity of the main character, who tends to be arrogant because of his outstanding ability, his complicated relationship with his family, his setbacks and his comeback. He delicately portrayed the inner feelings of a young boy who has just entered middle school.

Hayashi, who made a spectacular debut with this film, won the Newcomer of the Year Award at numerous film awards, including the Japan Academy Awards and the Kinema Junpo Best Ten. It seems that it has become).

2. “DIVE!!” (08)

After co-starring Riisa Naka in ``Chi-chan is Beyond Eternity'' (2008), Hayashi takes on the challenge of making a sports movie again. This time, he played the role of a middle school student who spends his youth on ``diving in''.

A complete change from ``Battery,'' where he played the role of a lone hero, in this work he brilliantly plays the role of an innocent sports boy. There are life-sized dramas included, such as the scene where he is depressed after being dumped by his lover while practicing, and the scene where he is having fun with his friends. Sosuke Ikematsu and Junpei Mizobata appear as rivals. The trio's innocent acting and well-trained bodies are dazzling.

The highlight of ``DIVE!!'' is the ``diving'' from a height that makes you cringe (in addition to the competition, there is also a scene where you jump from the coast into the sea), but you can also jump from a 10-meter-high jumping platform. It is said that the actors themselves actually perform the scenes where they jump into the scene.

Before filming, they held a training camp, starting with a 3-meter jump and gradually getting used to it, but the fear of ``jumping from such a high place'' was still considerable. The traces of Hayashi's efforts are clearly etched on the screen.
