"Pulp Fiction" (94)

Exquisite cheeseburger at "Big Kahuna Burger"

Director: Quentin Tarantino Starring: John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis

A scene in which gangsters Vincent (John Travolta) and Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) barge into the room of a group of young men who have betrayed their organization, read Bible verses to them, and slaughter them. The thug here is eating a cheeseburger from the non-existent chain restaurant ``Big Kahuna Burger.''

Jules, who rarely gets a chance to eat hamburgers because his girlfriend is vegan, stuffs his mouth with a delicious cheeseburger and quenches his throat with a Sprite. Apparently it's a Hawaiian-flavored burger (it's never explained exactly how Hawaiian it is, so it just stirs up our imaginations), and we, the audience, can't help but stare at Jules' eating it.

In fact, this "Big Kahuna Burger" also appears in other Tarantino works. In " Reservoir Dogs " (1992), Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen) drinks "Big Kahuna Burger" soda, and in the omnibus movie " Four Rooms " (1995), "Big Kahuna Burger" is drunk.・A cup with the "Burger" logo is displayed. In `` From Dusk Till Dawn '' (1996), directed by Tarantino's ally Robert Rodriguez, there is a scene in which the main character, Seth Gekko (George Clooney), carries a paper bag containing ``Big Kahuna Burger.'' Appear. ``Big Kahuna Burger'' is a symbolic existence that connects Tarantino's world horizontally.

The ``Big Kahuna Burger'' is something every movie fan wants to try at least once, and for a brief moment, this fictional chain restaurant became a reality. Fat Sal's Deli, a Los Angeles-based fast food restaurant, opened for two days in 2019. As befits a Hawaiian-style restaurant, they served pineapple burgers, coconut shrimp sandwiches, and piña colada-style milkshakes. ...No, please stay open forever!
