Will Ferrell, who grew up in the North Pole, heads to New York

There are many Christmas and holiday movies that I love, but this is one that I was actually planning to cover last year. A funny, cute, and heartwarming holiday film by Jon Favreau, who has remained a part of the MCU family since directing `` Iron Man ,'' and last year had a great episode in season 2 of `` The Mandalorian. '' The work is ``Elf ~He came from Santa's country~''.

One Christmas, Santa Claus visits an orphanage and takes the baby, who has slipped into a gift bag, back to the North Pole. Thirty years later, the child, named Buddy, has grown into an adult under the care of his elf adoptive father, but the elf world is too cramped for a 190cm human to live in, and he is not as dexterous with his hands as an elf. So even Santa's toy workshop isn't very useful. Buddy, who thinks of himself as an elf, has a hard time fitting in with his surroundings, but eventually learns of his real parents and sets out to visit his father in the big city of New York.

It is common for people who grew up in a different culture to come to New York, but the fact that the main character is an elf, a resident of a fairytale world, is similar to Disney's `` Enchanted ,'' which effectively uses animation and live-action. . Also, it is interesting to see a reversal of the idea that normally a human child would wander into the world where Santa and elves live, but on the contrary, an elf "child" comes to the human world, and that is, to the big city of New York. . In any case, New York is a city that is really easy to talk to.

Buddy, played by Will Ferrell, is so funny that it's hard to describe him in words or illustrations, but he's truly a person you never get bored of watching. He plays around like a big child (at 30 years old, he looks strangely childish, perhaps because the elf who raised him has a long lifespan of several hundred years), but his ungainly appearance and movements are similar to those of the elves around him. is made to look extremely small, which makes it even more striking and funny.

Since arriving in New York dressed as an elf, he has been behaving strangely, happily eating gum stuck to the railings of subway entrances (and searching for more), and leaflets handed out on the streets. I've received it many times, and since I've taken photos in the middle of a big city, I get scared when I see how much of it is actually crowded.
