Contrast of textures seen in “Cheese Holiday”, the origin of the series

However, the appeal of the works goes beyond just the handmade clay feel and warmth.

I think the combination of soft clay-like characters and hard textures like wood and metal gives the world just the right level of realism.

Furniture and doors appear to be made of wood, machinery including Wallace's inventions appear to be metal, and tableware appears to be ceramic. The contrast between the clay characters and the realistically textured props creates a contrast in the video.

From the first film, Nick Park's debut work, `` Cheese Holiday '', it seems that such a texture has already been perfected.

``Cheese Holiday'' is about Wallace and Gromit going on a vacation to the moon, and the contrast between the craggy characters covered in finger marks and the metallic space rocket they ride in is striking.

The development of the moon being made of Wallace's favorite cheese, so they set off on a rocket ride, is both lovely and funny, but it's also funny to see Wallace start chopping wood to make the rocket.

Once again, the contrast between the softly sculpted characters and tools such as lumber and saws gives the film depth.

It's also cute that the inside of the completed rocket looks just like a normal living room. I also like how it has a retro-futuristic cockpit built into it.
