This interview took place at Mr. Chihara's office, ``Lemon Life,'' and upon entering the room, I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of records, books, figurines, DVDs/Blu-rays, and more. From DeLorean figurines to Juzo Itami's books, it's like a secret base filled with treasures for movie fans. Even if I was locked up here for a month, I wouldn't get bored (personally). ``Ice Cream Fever'' is the first movie directed by Tetsuya Chihara, who is full of love for movies.

What was surprising was that Chihara was not only the director, but also the producer and producer (investor). How did art director Chihara produce and direct his first film? How could someone who is not a movie director make a movie? I spoke to him.

A must-see, especially for those who want to make movies. Please take a look.

"Ice Cream Fever" synopsis

Natsumi Tsuneta (Riho Yoshioka) The Graduate from art school and got a job at a design company, but it didn't work out, and now she spends her days as a part-time manager at the ice cream shop "SHIBUYA MILLION ICE CREAM." Which would be the happier and correct answer: return to the design industry or continue working at the ice cream shop? One day, she feels a sense of fate when the writer Saho Hashimoto (Serina Mottola) comes to her store, and from that day on, she cannot get Saho's presence out of her mind. On the other hand, Takako Kuwashima (Utaha), a junior colleague and part-time worker, watches Natsumi's changing feelings with somewhat complicated feelings... On the other hand, Takashima Yu (Matsumoto Marika), a neighbor of the ice cream shop, is confused by the sudden visitor. Miwa (Minami Kotona), the daughter of his estranged sister, uses her high school summer vacation to come Paths of Glory in to find her father, who left many years ago. Living together suddenly began. That wasn't the only worry occupying Yuu's mind... It's so faint and faint that you can't casually say "I love you," but it's an urge you can't resist. The feelings of each of the four people, each with their own colors, are moving forward in a sad yet true manner.

I couldn't get rid of my anxiety for a long time

Q: There are `` Marsa's Woman's Diary '' and `` Funeral Diary. '' These books are interesting, aren't they? Until recently, the 4K remastered versions of `` The Marsa Girl '' and `` The Funeral '' were shown in movie theaters, and it was extremely interesting to watch them again.

Chihara: I like Juzo Itami and have all of them on Blu-ray box. It was at a movie theater. I wanted to see that. It's not often that you get a chance to see a movie in a movie theater. The other day, I showed my 9-year-old child Super Girl (1996), and he absolutely loved it (lol).

Q: It's true that the dancing scenes are fun.

Chihara: That's right (lol).

Q: Mr. Chihara seems to be a big movie buff, but how was this experience of actually directing and making a movie?

Chihara: I think we'll know whether it was fun or not after it's released in theaters (lol), but so far I think it's been a really good experience.

Q: On the contrary, were you worried?

Chihara: I've always had anxiety. I'm anxious all the time, whether it's when I'm raising money, just before cranking in, during filming, right after the crack-up, during editing, or even after it's finished. But recently, my anxiety has finally turned into excitement. It's really finally here. It's my first time doing this, so I'm curious about people's opinions. During filming, I'm curious about what the staff think, and once the preview screening begins, I'm curious about what the people who saw it think. Over the past few days, I've finally seen people say ``good'' about the film after seeing previews, so I'm starting to feel less anxious and thinking, ``Ah, there are people who think it's good!''
