she always had priorities

Q: Although Audrey lived for many years and ultimately had a home in Trochenas, Switzerland, which she loved and called "La Pesible" (House of Peace), she continued to live here in Rome during that time. Why do you think that is?

Luke: Because I loved my father and had a child named me. “I am here as Mrs. Dottie,” my mother always said. There was no special reason for the location of Rome itself. In that sense, my mother was a truly independent woman. It's not like she was able to balance acting and family life. My mother had priorities.

After giving birth to a child, I put work on the back burner and focus on being a mother. The greatest honor for me was that when I was young, my mother was never a great actress, and she remained my mother. I really respect my mother, and even when I was first offered the job of UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, she prioritized family and waited for me to start working because I was still young. In other words, my mother didn't do many things at the same time.

Q: You also visited the set of `` Robin and Marian '' (1976) during your summer vacation. Did your mother have a different impression at that time?

Luca: No, it was the same as when I was at home. He wasn't acting anything, and the tone of his voice was the same as usual. That, on the other hand, was strange. When my friends asked me, ``Your mom is Audrey, right?'', I simply answered, ``No, it's Mrs. Dottie.''

Shocking words from my mother's mouth as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador

Q: So, when did you learn of your mother's greatness as an actress?

Luca: When my mother passed away. Until then, the media didn't bother to write about her, but as soon as she passed away, the reaction from all over the world was so overwhelming that even my desire to remember my mother was drowned out by the noise. It was a kind of culture shock.

Q: As your son, how did you view your mother, who actively travels the world as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador?

Luca: The countries we first visited, such as Mexico, Colombia, and Bangladesh, were not at war, but the countries we visited in later years, such as Somalia and Sudan, were conflict zones, and my mother gradually began to show fatigue. I once saw a child die in front of my eyes. As I did so, the things I saw in my mother's heart accumulated more and more, and eventually they began to hurt her heart.

When I returned from Somalia, my always positive mother said some unexpected words. "I've seen Inferno," he said. Still, my mother couldn't stop me. I think it was tough. Because my mother herself experienced war and watched her children die.
