"Breakfast at Tiffany's" Taxi

Yellow taxis are a familiar presence when watching Western movies. Their roles vary, sometimes just as a means of transportation, sometimes when they engage in car chases, but in any case, they are a familiar presence that serves as a means of transportation for many characters.

Even in ``Breakfast at Tiffany's,'' the taxi is impressive. The opening scene where Holly Golightly, played by Audrey in a black dress, looks out of a shop window in the early morning, which is the first thing that comes to mind when hearing the title of the film, begins with her arriving in a yellow taxi. . After that, taxis appear many times in the play, and the final scene also features the characters getting out of a taxi into the rain. You could almost call him the main character in the shadows. It can be seen that it is a natural and indispensable presence that has been incorporated into the landscape of New York. However, Holly doesn't seem to care.

What makes the taxi in this movie interesting is its size. There are also taxis with rounded shapes that come to mind when you hear the word yellow cab, but the ones that leave an impression are the flat, large, rocket-like tail fins that you associate with American cars. It's a car that looks like it belongs. The only thing that makes it look like a taxi is that it's painted yellow. Not only does it give a sense of its age, but it's also interesting to see how the advantage of its size comes into play in the story. Holly changes her clothes quickly in this huge taxi, but I'm sure it would be easier to do that in a spacious car. Of course, it probably doesn't matter to Holly whether the inside of the car is spacious or small, but I think that's why that taxi had the space, literally the space, to accommodate her free-spirited personality.
