``Eba no Koto,'' directed by and starring Ryutaro Ninomiya, was shocking. I was completely captivated by Ninomiya's films, which hit the screen with both emotion and violence. Director Ninomiya finally makes his commercial film debut. The main character is Ken Mitsuishi. He deeply respects Mitsuishi for this work, ``A Dream That Escaped,'' and not only wrote the script for him, but also researched Mitsuishi's life and injected the essence of that into the story. Mitsuishi's biological father also appears in the role of his actual father.

June 10th is Judy Garland's birthday. In her biographical film ``Judy'' (2019), Renée Zellweger brilliantly portrays the power of a huge star who once ruled Hollywood's golden age and is trying to rise from the depths. Zellweger herself had a strong start to the 2000s, but the decade-plus since has been a downer. Behind the enthusiastic performance, there must have been a deep sense of empathy.
