Synopsis
1841, New York. Solomon Northup was a free black man and a musician. He lived a happy life with his wife and children, surrounded by many friends, including white ones. However, one night, Northup is drugged by two men and sold to a slave trader while in a coma. He tried desperately to claim that he was a free black man, but it didn't take long for him to realize that his resistance was futile. He is stripped of his name and dignity as a human being and is bought as a slave by the plantation owner Ford. Still, Northup's ability is recognized at the farm and he is liked by the gentle Ford, but...
