A masterpiece dedicated to two great masters

I would say that ``Unforgiven'' (1992) is Clint Eastwood's masterpiece. Of course, the content is great, and it even won the Academy Award for Best Picture, but what touches me the most are the words at the end of the end credits.

-Dedicated to Sergio and Don-

Directed by Sergio Leone, who started the Macaroni Western boom, Sergio invited Eastwood to Italy, where he starred in films such as `` A Fistful of Dollars '' (1964) and `` The Gunman of the Sunset '' (1966). The other director is Don Siegel, who made Eastwood a top star with action thriller films such as ` `Dirty Harry '' (1971) and `` Escape from Alcatraz '' (1979).

"Unforgiven" preview

The two passed away one after another before the release of ``Unforgiven''. Eastwood dedicated this film to his two mentors who serve as models for his filmmaking. From this one point, it can be seen that this is a work that has a particularly significant ``meaning'' in his career.

The ``significance'' is that this film is the antithesis of the Western genre, in which Eastwood has starred many times. His goal was to expose the falsehood of the American myth of the Western.
