Who are the phantom members envisioned in the early stages of Ghostbusters?

Were the members originally envisioned as completely different?
Interestingly, Dunn originally envisioned the project as a follow-up to The Blues Brothers with John Belushi. Hopefully, that big fever will happen again. He was thinking of causing a stir by taking off his trademark black suit and sunglasses and switching to his work clothes for exterminating ghosts.
It is also said that Dunn was considering Eddie Murphy, the comedic actor who had already starred in ``Saturday Night Live'' and `` 48 Hours ,'' as his other co-star, so it was at a very early stage. In my mind's eye, a Hidden Figures team of Dunn, Belushi, and Murphy had been formed.
However, in March 1982, John Belushi, beloved by everyone as the outrageous monster of the comedy world, died of drug poisoning at the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Los Angeles at the young age of 33. Also, the casting of Eddie Murphy, who was very busy at the time, never materialized. The dream trio disappeared into an illusion.
Modifications to be more realistic and the birth of a legendary trio
Dan overcame the death of his ally Belushi to complete the half-finished script into about 80 pages. When he showed this to director Ivan Reitman, with whom he had been in contact for some time, his destiny finally began to take shape. Although Ivan frankly thought it was interesting, he thought it would be impossible to make it happen due to the high production costs. So he invited his friend Harold Ramis to make major revisions. In this way, the storyline of this work shifted towards depicting from a realistic perspective how a shady ghost extermination business was founded and how it got off the ground.

During the process of finalizing the project and content, Bill Murray, a popular actor who had previously interacted with Dan on shows such as "Saturday Night Live" and who had starred in Ivan's directorial film " Paradise Army ", came to the meeting. So to speak, he was cast as a role to fill the Intolerance by John Belushi. In addition, Christopher Walken, John Lithgow, Christopher Lloyd, and Jeff Goldblum were considered for the role of Egon Spengler, a serious researcher wearing glasses. Harold Ramis was chosen to play the role because he felt that he understood the role best because the script was written by him. In this way, the three now-legendary riders got together and began running in a three-legged race.
