“A Balance” The outline of correctness that emerges by thoroughly avoiding “answers”
2021.10.02
What is the meaning behind the title?
After watching this movie, I was completely devastated. Then, I thought deeply about the title, ``A Balance''. Of course, if you interpret it literally, it's ``the story of a documentary director who swings between two ultimate choices like a scale,'' but I just couldn't give it a simple interpretation.
Come to think of it, the "Statue of Justice", known as a symbol representing the fairness of the judiciary, holds a sword to protect society in its right hand, but the scales of judgment are held up in its left hand (Kimutaku This is something that appeared frequently in the movie version of `` HERO '' in which he starred). Yes, the scales are a symbol for weighing good and evil.

So, Yuko. It's a bit of an unusual name, but if you break it down, it becomes ``Yu = Yoridokoro,'' ``U = Space,'' and ``子 = Child.'' yes! I believe that ``A Balance'' means ``a child wandering in the endlessly expanding universe in search of a source of justice'' (sorry for this overly forced interpretation). That is exactly who we are. Yuko is yourself, and it also refers to all the people around you.
All ``correctness'' always includes ``incorrectness,'' and all ``incorrectness'' has quite a bit of ``correctness.'' Without falling into perfunctory dogmatism, he tries to highlight the contours of correctness by thoroughly avoiding "answers." I can see director Harumoto's sincerity in the completely restrained direction.
"I can't be on anyone's side. But I can shine a light."
said Yuko. I hope that this movie will bring light to everyone who watches it.
