Spider-Man's next leap

As mentioned at the beginning, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is a work full of surprises. Moreover, it is a rare example (very rare even for MCU works) in which many of them are organically intertwined with the story. If you don't go into the content of the story, you will not be able to touch the core of the work.

However, the reason I have looked back on the history of Spider-Man in this article is because, with this context in mind, I can now articulate the aim of the film "Spider-Man: No Way Home," at least as the final installment of the "Homecoming" trilogy.

That is, how does Peter Parker, who started out rolling on the ground, become Spider-Man, soaring through the skies of a big city? Or how does Spider-Man, surrounded by big-name heroes and exposed to the threat of the multiverse, become independent, i.e., gain his own position? Or, more specifically, why did the "friendly neighborhood" Spider-Man become such a beloved hero around the world? Tom Holland's statement that "this time, we're depicting him (Peter Parker) becoming Spider-Man" is connected to these very themes.

As mentioned earlier, the MCU version of Spider-Man was originally given a special position and background, and had a special identity as a live-action movie. However, in a setting that has become more complicated since then, this film tries to free him from that complexity by focusing the story on Peter Parker's maturity. What emerges from that is the simplest and most primitive form of the hero Spider-Man. In other words, it also gives the hero Spider-Man/Peter Parker infinite possibilities again. That is why "Spider-Man: No Way Home" can "for now" end the story of the MCU version of Spider-Man that has been depicted so far, including the two "Avengers" films.

At this point, it is unclear how Spider-Man's story will develop in the future. However, producer Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige have confirmed that they have already begun discussions about a sequel to this film, and it has also been announced that the animated series "Spider-Man: Homecoming," will be distributed on Disney+. Surely, Spider-Man's story is not over yet.
