Cinematographer Raoul Coutard was a regular member of Godard's staff, a famous French New Wave cameraman also known for his work with François Truffaut. Incidentally, director Martin Scorsese, who lists "Contempt" as his favorite of Godard's works, also used this number in " Casino " (1995).
