An unexpected move made by a rookie director who has the power to knock down The Birds in flight.

Twenty years have already passed since the release of the low-budget film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998). This work was produced by Guy Ritchie, who has a background in music videos, and Matthew Vaughn, a producer with experience working as a film staff member in LA. These two talents, who no longer make movies together, worked side by side with the unfounded confidence of their youth, and achieved great success, reaching No. 1 in the box office rankings in the week of release in their home country of England. It's a monumental piece of work.

Of course, they did not get to this point on their own. Trudie Styler (Sting's wife, actress, and producer), who is said to have created an opportunity for Richie and Madonna to later meet, and the well-known Peter Morton (one of the founders of the Hard Rock Cafe). It must not be forgotten that he was supported by strong connections that would be impossible for a new director to make. Talent, passion and support. Without either of these, the company would not have achieved the same level of prominence it has.

In any case, once ``Lock, Stock'' became a huge hit, attention began to turn to Guy Ritchie's next move. It had been his long-held dream to ``one day direct a major film,'' and with his second film, that goal was already within reach. In fact, sweet invitations were constantly coming in from Hollywood.

However, another part of Richie's self advises him. "Now is not the time." Even if you break into Hollywood with only half-baked experience and half-hearted determination, you could still be ripped off by the pitfalls of trading or the constraints imposed by studios. In order to succeed in the holy land of movies, I need more time to learn about the Hollywood system. As a result, Ritchie chooses to make another low-budget gangster movie here in London, with the same staff and cast, rather than jump on a fleeting dream. That's how ``Snatch'' was born.

Richie and Vaughn are proud that this was the "right choice." He also said that by refusing Hollywood's invitation and choosing to make this film, ``I was able to understand myself better, and I was able to learn more about how to proceed with each negotiation.''
