“The Godfather” synopsis

1947. The wedding of his youngest daughter Connie (Talia Shire) is held at the mansion of mafia boss Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando). It was a grand wedding attended by hundreds of people, including members of the Corleone family and members of the mafia organization known as the "Family." In the mansion's study with the blinds drawn, Vito, wearing a tuxedo with a blood-red rose stuck in his right chest, listened to the pleas of a visiting friend. He used his love, power, and intelligence to fully inform those who depended on him. That was his duty and dignity as The Godfather(godfather). Sollozzo (Al Lettieri), a drug dealer who is under the influence of his rival Bruno Tattaglia (Tony Giorgio), approaches him with a deal. Vito politely refuses, but eventually Sollozzo hatches an assassination plan... Michael (Al Pacino), who returns from World War II, feels intense resentment and anger at his father's assassination attempt, and throws himself into the mafia society...

How did this masterpiece in film history come about?

The Godfather is a masterpiece that shines brightly in the history of cinema. It is a dignified chronicle of the power shifts within a certain mafia family, reminiscent of Shakespeare and Dostoevsky, and captivates audiences with the superb performances of Marlon Brando and Al Pacino, and the rich, mellow visuals of the famous cinematographer Gordon Willis. It also produced many famous lines, such as "I'll make you an offer you can't refuse," and remains a regular on the all-time list. It is also a masterpiece by master director Francis Ford Coppola, and, along with The Godfather Part II , it achieved the unprecedented feat of winning two Academy Awards in the series.

This film not only made Coppola's talent known to the world, but also restored the reputation of Marlon Brando, who was considered to be in decline, and starred Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, James Caan, John Cazale, Diane Keaton, and others. At the time, he catapulted fledgling or unknown actors into stars, and brought about numerous visual innovations. There would be no end to the enormity of his accomplishments, but in this article, I would like to consider the wonders of movie magic by examining how ``The Godfather'' became a masterpiece through a series of coincidences.
