Embedded in the work is a stepping stone to look back on history that has passed.

Looking down on history and looking at where we are now. When I look at this work again from this perspective, I can see that screenplay writer John Logan ( Gladiator (2000), The Last The Samurai (2003)) and director Sam Mendes have their eye on every aspect of the story. I realized that I had hidden preparations of various sizes.

For example, Turner's painting ``Battleship Temeraire being towed to its final berth to be dismantled'', which Bond and Q (Ben Whishaw) are looking at in the National Gallery in London, is a depiction of a bygone history. However, it seems as if it points to the future that Bond may follow.

MI6, whose headquarters was blown up, makes temporary home in the ruins of Churchill's Bunker, which was once used to avoid Nazi bombing, and in the middle of the story, a deserted island in ruins (a warship in Nagasaki). It is also suggestive to bring up the island (which is modeled after the island). In addition, small and large elements such as the bulldog figurine representing indomitable spirit, the familiar Aston Martin DB5, and the Walther PPK each give off meaning and resonate with each other to weave a larger story.

The climax, which is the destination, is a further return to the origin. The fighting style there is primitive and rough, as if you have traveled back in time to the world of a Western movie. For the action scenes set in the desolate landscape of Scotland, director Sam Mendes referred to Kurosawa's films, which can be said to be the basis of all films, and searched for a way to ``make use of the topography and structure.'' It also seems that elements of the climax of `` Castle in the Spider's Web '' (1957) are incorporated into the scene where Bond is cornered inside the mansion (*1). In other words, the way the film was shot itself was a return to the origins of film.
