Two major spy series with history and tradition born during the Cold War.

It is no exaggeration to say that the 007 series is the representative of all spy action genres. The starting point for all of this was the novel `` Casino Royale, '' published in 1953 by author Ian Fleming, a military man, journalist, and former spy himself.

More than eight years have passed since the world war left deep scars, and while on the surface it appears that peace has been restored, behind the scenes there are still a variety of volatile situations. The role of a spy is to get into those dangerous areas. The gradual popularity of the original 007 series was due to the exquisite combination of reality that takes into account the world situation and creativity that thrills readers.

The Cuban Missile Crisis that occurred in October 1962 was an incident in which an ``invisible threat'' suddenly emerged from the surface and shocked people. Coincidentally, the first 007 movie, Dr. No , was released in the UK around the same time. It is not hard to imagine that people have become more aware of things such as the ``invisible world'' and ``invisible enemies'' as a result of this.

In these times, 007 movies have become huge hits with each new release. At the same time, from the mid-1960s, many films and TV series dealing with spies and special agents began to appear. One example of this is " Operation Spy, " which was conceived by Bruce Geller and began airing on American networks in 1966. This work is the origin of the `` Mission: Impossible '' film series, which was later produced and starred by Tom Cruise.

As mentioned in another article , ``Skyfall'' (12) was billed as a ``50th anniversary film'', but the ``Mission: Impossible'' series is also now being released as the TV version of ``Operation Spy''. ” If you count it, it's over 50 years since its birth. The two companies have successfully and flexibly adapted their forms to the rapidly changing times, and can be said to be perfect rivals representing Britain and the United States.
