This is the original story of the band "Stillwater" in the movie!

However, some important proper nouns have been changed in the film, such as the main character's name being William Miller (played by Patrick Fugit) instead of Cameron Crowe. However, Crow himself has openly stated this model (although there are various theories). Excerpts from an interview with Andrew Pulver, a reporter for the British Guardian newspaper, published in a script book published in 2001 (written by Cameron Crowe, translated by Toru Almost Famous and published by Macmillan Language House). Let's try it.

The band "Stillwater" that William will be accompanying on tour is modeled after the Allman Brothers Band. The charismatic guitarist Russell (Billy Crudup) seems to have a character image that's a cross between Duane Allman and Eric Clapton. However, Duane Allman died in a motorcycle accident in 1971, so this part is fictionalized. In terms of looks, it has the vibe of George Harrison and James Taylor. By the way, another source says that he was modeled after Glenn Frey of the Eagles, and Poco was the first band Crowe toured with. Also, vocalist Jeff (Jason Lee) resembles Freelance's Paul Rodgers in his stage performance.

Furthermore, the songs that Stillwater performs in the film were written by Crowe, his wife Nancy Wilson (guitarist for the rock band Heart), and Peter Frampton, and include songs from ``Bad Company and Jethro Tull''. He said he was aiming for an image that was somewhere between the two.

Seen in this way, it seems that Cameron Crowe is reweaving his childhood memories, reconstructing multiple elements, and trying to condense a cross-section of the rock scene of the early 1970s into a single film.
