``Ocean's Eleven'' All-star movie created by indie genius Steven Soderbergh and Hollywood big name

“All-Star” casting was difficult

When talking about "Ocean's Eleven," the phrase "all-star cast" is a must. However, the cast that was initially announced was a little different. George Clooney, who had worked closely with Soderbergh on " Out of Sight, " would play Danny Ocean, Julia Roberts would play his wife Tess, and Brad Pitt would play his partner, but Mark Wahlberg was to play Linus, a role that Matt Damon had played.

Wahlberg had also starred with Clooney in " Three Kings " (1999) and " The Perfect Storm " (2000), and the public image of them as brother and sister had permeated both their personal and professional lives, so to everyone, it seemed like the perfect casting. However, Wahlberg dropped out in favor of Tim Burton's remake of " Planet of the Apes " (2001). Initially, Bruce Willis, Michael Douglas, Ralph Fiennes, Ewan McGregor, Owen Wilson and the Wilson brothers Luke were also on the cast list. Willis, Douglas and Fiennes were thought to be candidates for the role of casino kingpin Benedict (played by Andy Garcia), but Willis was the only one who was scheduled to star as Danny before Clooney. Ewan McGregor dropped out of the role of professional bomb basher. The setting that Basher was British remains. In the end, American Don Cheadle tried his hand at a cockney accent in London's working-class neighborhood.
