Clooney goes beyond film industry convention to negotiate lower fees

As a result, Clooney, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon stood out in terms of name value (Don Cheadle was not credited because he did not want to be treated as inferior to them), but still. Everyone has a career of their own, and if everyone were to be paid a decent salary, production costs would inevitably rise.

The film was produced by Section Eight, a company co-founded by Soderbergh and Clooney, and Clooney first announced that he would cut his own acting fees. He also asked other stars to lower their salaries. In exchange for a cheap fee, he promised to split the profits from the hit.

In other words, in ``Ocean's Eleven,'' Clooney himself managed to get the stars who were so coveted by Hollywood at almost half their salary. For agents who were intent on increasing the salaries of their contracted stars, this was an abnormal situation that went against industry convention. It is famous that when Clooney invited Julia Roberts to join her, he sent her the script with a note saying, ``I heard your salary was $20 (million),'' with a $20 bill tucked inside the script.

Of course, the opportunity to work with The Birds, who at the time was a force to be reckoned with, was also a big attraction for the actors.

Soderbergh has a lot of trust from the actors, and Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Don Cheadle are in Soderbergh's work for the second time, and after this work, many of the actors have appeared in Soderbergh-related works and are known as the ``Soderbergh group''. But they are starting to take on the appearance of a troupe that deserves to be called upon. Many of the people whose names were mentioned at one time have since worked with Soderbergh from time to time. Alan Arkin in the short story omnibus ` `Eros '' (2004), and Ewan McGregor in `` Agent Mallory '' (12). Bruce Willis made a cameo appearance as Willis himself in the sequel `` Ocean's Twelve '' (2004).
