Movies starring Leonardo DiCaprio that only those in the know know about

Leonardo DiCaprio has been appearing in major films at a rapid pace, but until he became a big hit with "Titanic," he also appeared in films that only die-hard movie fans had seen. Let's introduce some of the lesser known DiCaprio films.

"Body Heat" (92)

Drew Barrymore stars in this erotic thriller about a family whose involvement with a mysterious beautiful girl leads to tragedy, and DiCaprio has a very minor role, so it's hard to find him in it, but the scenes with the future superstar are not to be missed.

A Boy's Life (1992)

Directed by Michael Caton-Jones and based on an autobiographical novel by American author Tobias Wolff. DiCaprio has already been given the lead role in this film, his third film. Ellen Barkin plays the mother of the boy DiCaprio plays, and Robert De Niro plays her second husband. The boy's delicate appearance is reminiscent of the later popular film "What's Eating Gilbert Grape."

One Hundred and One Nights (95)

A comedy directed by Agnès Varda, celebrating 100 years since the invention of cinema. Many movie stars appear in the film, including Leonardo DiCaprio. The film is a mix of fiction and documentary, and DiCaprio only plays a small role, with his name not even appearing in the credits. However, it is a rare scene, and is a must-see for movie fans and DiCaprio fans.

The Quick and the Dead (95)

This western film was directed by Sam Raimi, starring Sharon Stone. It also stars Gene Hackman and Russell Crowe. Sharon Stone, who was also involved in the production, selected Russell Crowe as her co-star, and apparently persuaded Leonardo DiCaprio to join the cast. This film also features Sam Raimi's unique direction, with a variety of camerawork and angles.

My Room (96)

This is a story about family ties starring big actresses such as Meryl Streep and Diane Keaton, but since the family lives in harsh conditions, there are many serious scenes. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Meryl Streep's son, who is bad-tempered and causes big trouble right from the start. However, he gradually opens up to his aunt, played by Diane Keaton, and the ending is one you can't watch without crying.

"These Days" (01)

This movie was released in Japan in 2002, and many people miss the fact that DiCaprio is in it, probably because it is a low-budget black-and-white film. However, DiCaprio stars in it, and co-stars with Tobey Maguire. The story depicts an evening where young men and women get together and talk about their daily lives as they please.

"World of Lies" (08)

Leonardo DiCaprio plays a CIA agent in this film directed by master director Ridley Scott. DiCaprio is often thought of as a big hit when he appears in a film, but he has had a period of decline. This film is a big role, but it was not even nominated for any awards, but it is a great action suspense film that feels like a hidden gem.
