Why did you bring out "XX"? Note! Contains spoilers.

*The following contains spoilers for Palm Springs. It does not contain spoilers for the storyline, but if you are interested, please read it after watching the movie.

Q: Lastly, without giving away any spoilers, could you tell us why you chose to include “dinosaurs”?

Barbakow: As I said earlier, this movie started with two guys holed up in one room, and at first they were pitching each other whatever elements they wanted to include. We both love `` Jurassic Park '' (1993), so we decided that we really wanted to include dinosaurs (lol).

I thought dinosaurs would be an unexpected element in the framework of a time loop movie, and in terms of the story, I thought that in order for two people who think it is impossible to love others to find love, an event that makes the impossible possible was necessary. Something like seeing dinosaurs in the middle of the desert. By the way, what they are seeing is not an illusion. The setting is that real dinosaurs are walking around.

What was interesting was that for some reason neither the producers nor the investors took issue with the dinosaurs. We considered a lot of crazy elements, but we were always moving in the direction that the dinosaurs should be there. I don't think everyone understood the meaning behind the dinosaurs, but I think they probably felt that it was the right choice in an emotional sense.
