Cadillac Eldorado from Ghostbusters

It's like I learned about different types of cars through movies. This time, I would like to introduce some of my personal favorite cars that appear in movies (in no particular order).

First of all, it's easy to understand: the ghost-extermination vehicle "ECTO-1" from " Ghostbusters " (1984).

This is a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado (Cadillac Ambulance) that was modified by Miller Meteor to be used as an ambulance or hearse, and was further modified to be used exclusively by the Busters.

Even though it has been modified twice, the characteristics such as the large flat body, rounded shape, and rocket-like tail fin that symbolizes affluence are still intact, and combined with the modifications and decorations of Busters specifications. It gives off a unique presence.

The way it rushes to the scene of a strange phenomenon and flies through the streets of New York is impressive, but the way the long body of the car tilts and shakes when it turns on the road is particularly cool. Anyway, the body is long.

In the reboot version (2016), "ECTO-1" is an 1982 Cadillac DeVille, but whereas in the first game the Busters got an old, crumbling 1959 Eldorado, this time it's a 1982 Cadillac DeVille. It's interesting that a car that would have been new in the 1980s is welcomed by the modern version of Busters as outdated and worn-out. The fact that the DeVille isn't very popular and is easily available makes it perfect for Ghostbusters who don't have much money. The big yellow siren on the roof is a little scary.
