Gwyneth Paltrow now

Gwyneth Paltrow, then 26, won one of the seven Oscars for Best Actress for her role as Viola. In front of some 46 million viewers around the world, she took to the stage in a pink Ralph Lauren ballgown, shrugged her shoulders, and in a trembling voice expressed her gratitude to everyone involved and her family. Paltrow's Viola continues to be remembered as the savior of female characters, closing out the 1990s that began with Julia Roberts' ` `Pretty Woman '' (1990).

Paltrow, interviewed by industry magazine Variety earlier this year, looked back on "Shakespeare in Love," which celebrated its 20th anniversary, and commented that Tom Stoppard's screenplay was everything. The Oscar-winning actress landed her best role at a young age and rose to the top of the film industry. Now, at age 46, she is earning a huge amount of money as the CEO of the lifestyle brand Goop, in addition to her acting career. Robert Downey Jr., who co-starred with her in the `` Iron Man '' series (from 2008), even ridiculed her for being an entrepreneur rather than an actress.

Miramax's future

You may be familiar with the process of Weinstein's subsequent downfall due to sexual harassment and sexual abuse charges. Miramax was originally founded in 1979 by brothers Harvey and Bob Weinstein. After producing a number of hits, the brothers founded the Weinstein Company in 2005. After the two left, the company was sold one after another to Filmyard Holdings, a group of investors, and beIN Media Group, a Qatari network.

Then, coincidentally, this month (October 2019), news came out that Viacom, an American media conglomerate that is proceeding with a re-joint venture with CBS, will acquire the company. Viacom's goal is to use its streaming service to deliver medium-sized masterpieces, such as ``Shakespeare in Love,'' which Hollywood doesn't make as often these days, to movie fans. It looks like the day will soon come when Will and Viola's sweet whispers will be spread in a new way, even after 20 years.
