``The Fly'' This is how Cronenberg's terrifying and sad masterpiece was born!

A happy fusion of artistry and entertainment
As expected from a Hollywood movie, the ending featured a theme song by a popular artist. Cronenberg really liked the song ``Help Me,'' which was provided by Bryan Ferry, the vocalist for Roxy Music, a British band active in the 1970s and early 1980s. However, when considering whether it would be a suitable ending for the film, it was rejected. This ferry number can only be heard slightly in the bar scene. This song, which was not included on the soundtrack, was later included in Ferry's compilation album and saw the light of day as a sound source.

After ``The Fly'' was released in theaters, it received an even bigger response than any of Cronenberg's previous films, but there were some opinions that confused Cronenberg. The reason is that the accident depicted here may be based on AIDS... 1986 was a time when AIDS was becoming a social issue, and many viewers saw this film as a parallel to that reality. But Cronenberg dismisses such views. According to him, it is correct to view the protagonist's transformation as a metaphor for aging.
After this film, Cronenberg maintained an inseparable relationship with Hollywood, producing a series of ambitious works such as `` Naked Lunch '' (1991), `` Crash '' (1996), and `` Eastern Promises '' (2007). He rose to fame as a filmmaker who pursued his own art without being influenced by commercialism, and gained the respect of filmmakers around the world.
Looking back, ``The Fly'' seems to be a happy fusion of his uncompromising attitude and the entertainment quality unique to Hollywood movies. If you haven't encountered any of Cronenberg's works yet, I recommend starting here. If you are a fan, why not experience the richness of this movie once again while waiting for the genius to return to the front?
