Louis B. Mayer's Devil's Whispers

Garland signed an exclusive contract with MGM in 1935, and was tightly controlled by company president Louis B. Mayer. He was alternately given weight-loss pills to keep his overweight body slim, stimulants to help him cope with his hectic work schedule, and sleeping pills to help him get a good night's sleep. It was like managing livestock. Mayer muttered this while looking down at the dissatisfied Garland. "You are the chosen one. If you don't like that, go back to being a poor girl." The lighting effects on Mayer's face make him look like the devil in this scene.

As a popular child actor, Garland's private life was also a part of PR, but the studio forced her to attend an early birthday party, even though her birthday hadn't arrived yet. His date with Mickey Rooney, who was also a child star at MGM, was also set up inside the studio.

However, she accepted such a life. Even if he retreats to the wings of the stage, when he hears the audience's applause, he forgets to return to the dressing room and tries to return to the stage again. Louis B. Mayer's advice may have been correct. Judy Garland was a natural star.
