30th anniversary since the birth of the masterpiece

2020 marks the 30th anniversary of the birth of this masterpiece. I remember that in the hometown where I was born, it was shown at the same time as ` `Home Alone '' (1990), and when I was a junior high school student, I went to the theater just for ``Home Alone,'' but by the time the movie was over, I was completely taken by the movie. I was hooked on the scissors man. Johnny Depp, who was in his 20s back then, is now in his mid-50s. Macaulay Culkin is also over 40 years old. It's no wonder I'm getting older, I think to myself.

Unraveling a nostalgic masterpiece is somewhat similar to opening a time capsule. I wonder what kind of thoughts I'll have when I meet this film for the first time in a while...The movie begins with excitement. The first thing that was shown was the ``20th Century Fox'' logo falling on snow. Considering that the company's name and logo have now changed due to the Disney acquisition, I was a bit taken aback by this point.

"Edward Scissorhands" preview

I often find myself amazed while watching the main story. The fact that the role of ``Mom'' was played by famous actress Dianne Wiest, and ``Kim's boyfriend'' was played by Anthony Michael Hall from `` The Breakfast Club '' (1985) also filled me with nostalgia. Also, when I watched the movie in the past, I never noticed that the role of the father was played by Alan Arkin, who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for ` `Little Miss Sunshine '' (2006).

As time passes, memories slowly become vague. However, it is interesting, and the vivid impression of the scissors man has not changed in the slightest. He was the only one who didn't fade, and continued to give off a very unique presence by clapping his hands as usual. From that unforgettable final scene to the present, it seems as if time has stood still for 30 years in that castle.
