When the pattern of the costume begins to correspond to what the scissors touch.

The change in the feelings of Edward and Kim, two people who live in completely different worlds, can be easily understood by paying attention to their costumes.

Eventually, an incident occurs in the middle of the story, and when Edward, who knows the situation, does not reveal Kim's involvement at all, she is touched by his pure heart and begins to look at him with enchanted eyes. And the next scene to be inserted. There is a figure of Kim watching from behind as Edward painstakingly prunes the roses in the garden. What I want to pay attention to is the clothes she is wearing. The pattern depicted is also decorated with countless roses. It was as if their hearts were already becoming one from this point on.

This necessity does not end once and for all. The next scene that I would like to draw your attention to is the famous scene where Edward uses scissors to create an ice sculpture in his garden on Christmas night. As he scatters pure white snow in the vicinity, Kim wears a pure white dress that resembles snowflakes. Coupled with her smiling face as she dances around, the film is enveloped in a euphoric and romantic mood. But that doesn't last long.

They say that what happens twice happens three times, and the third time in this work is sad. Inside the castle, Edward, who has returned to his all-black leather fashion, and his love rival Anthony Michael Hall, who is also wearing an all-black leather jacket, are seen in droves, dressed in bright red clothes like torches to hunt down monsters. Heading into the final showdown.

And when Edward's scissors become soaked in blood, Kim's pure white dress is also stained bright red. This is a definitive Signs of separation, different from the first or second time. Although the two feel the same, they must decide to separate because they love each other.

However, at the end, like a phantom lamp, their images are reflected once more. There, Edward scatters pure white snow with his scissors, and young Kim wears a pure white dress that looks like snowflakes. With this memory of overlapping hearts in their hearts, as the decades pass, they will continue to embrace their own form of love in their respective places.

30th anniversary since its birth. This is both a tragedy and a love story that will never end.
