The great influence Lean had on many of my juniors

Although David Lean often turned away actors due to his harsh filming practices, many directors were influenced by him. Steven Spielberg was strongly inspired by the naturalism of Lawrence of Arabia , and George Lucas and even Stanley Kubrick have admitted to being influenced by Lean's work.

Another British junior, Joe Wright, said he was most influenced by Doctor Zhivago. Wright's masterpiece `` Atonement '' (2007) vividly depicts people who are unable to resist fate even if they try.

“Atonement” preview

After ``Doctor Zhivago'', David Lean released `` Ryan's Daughter '' (1970), but the reviews were not good, and he did not make a feature film for 14 years until his next movie `` Passway to India '' (1984). I never took it. He passed away at the age of 83 on April 16, 1991, while preparing Nostromo, based on the original story by Joseph Conrad.

In order to embody the theme he pursues as a filmmaker, he travels anywhere in the world, even changes the seasons, and with his abnormal perfectionism, he demands that the actors do difficult things. He is just like a good old movie tycoon. Like Lean. Perhaps he was the epitome of romanticism.

Among Lean's works, `` Doctor Zhivago '' tends to be overshadowed by his masterpiece ``Lawrence of Lawrence of Arabia, '' but if you want to enjoy the real pleasure of a long-defunct romantic masterpiece, there is no other work more suitable than this one. I wonder.
