``A Whisker Away'' A true ``life-size'' animation drawn with a child's heart

A story for sensitive junior high school students that will reach them.

For example, in the works of director Makoto Shinkai, the naive emotional depictions are often filled with admiration for the youthfulness and recklessness of children as seen through the eyes of adults. In Mamoru Hosoda's original work, you can clearly see the creator's thoughts on family and love. However, this song ``A Whisker Away'' is really clean. The word "life-sized" really fits.

This "life-size" is not the creator's. The sensibilities and perspectives of middle school students are clearly depicted without interfering with the sensibilities of adults. That's why the world is so kind and beautiful. From our perspective as adults, this may not be the case. But this is fine. It means not knowing any malice. It's a kind of happy reality, the ``old reality'' to which we can never go back.

Similar to Studio Colorido's `` Typhoon Norda '' (2015) and `` Penguin Highway ,'' this work is also woven with beautiful landscape depictions that explore how boys and girls see the world. You can fully feel the colors. On the other hand, it's probably because of Studio Colorido that they were able to seamlessly weave the ``heart'' of a middle school student into the story.

When did anime become something for adults? It would be nice to have a story for junior high school students who are sensitive and reach out to them. ``A Whisker Away'' seems to convey this kind of intention. This peacefulness is by no means a coincidence.
