review
Synopsis
Somewhere in Eastern Europe. A boy fleeing the Holocaust dies of illness and the elderly woman he takes in, who lives alone, dies of illness, and his house is destroyed in a fire, leaving him without family and on a journey alone. Everywhere he goes, he continues to struggle desperately to survive, even as he encounters cruel treatment from those around him who treat him as a foreign object.
