My first directorial work is about my own experience of being stalked.

Afterwards, Eastwood's best friend Fritz Marnais, and Sonia Charnas, who gave him the chance to appear in Rawhide (59-65), joined Malpaso Productions. Continuing to run a family-like business with close friends, Eastwood produced ambitious films such as `` Pencher's Wagon '' (1969), `` Two Mules for Sister Sara '' (1970), and `` The Night of the White Skin '' (1971). To go.

Before long, Eastwood began to show interest not only in starring and producing films, but also in directing. Since the time of ``Rawhide,'' he has had an extraordinary interest in directing, to the point that he has made an agreement with the broadcasting station CBS to let him direct a number of shows (although this story is based on a different drama that CBS was working on). However, when they asked an actor to direct the production, the budget was too high, so it was rejected.)

When Eastwood signed a three-movie contract with Universal, he snorted and tried to persuade Universal, saying, ``Let me direct one movie, even if it's free!'' The work he picked up was ``Play Misty for Me'' (71). It's a psychological suspense story about a disc jockey at a local station being stalked by a woman he spent the night with.

It doesn't quite fit the image that the indomitable man Eastwood's memorable first directorial film was about being chased around by a female stalker, but he had a similar experience in real life. His ex-girlfriend became extremely attached to Eastwood and threatened to commit suicide. It certainly seems like a logical choice to use his personal experiences in his first directorial work.

Eastwood's extraordinary enthusiasm prompted Universal executive Lou Wasserman to give the green Signs. Thus, Clint Eastwood took his first step as a filmmaker.
