A semi-autobiographical story that captures the original author's youth.

Mark Millar is a popular comic book writer who represents the industry. His brother Bobby made Mark read comic books when he was only four years old and took him to a comic book shop. The first comic book Mark read was the classic "The Amazing Spider-Man (1973)" which depicted the death of Gwen Stacy. Mark also bought a Superman comic that same day, and he became fascinated with the world of comic books.

Mark Millar has cited two people who have had the greatest influence on his career as a writer: Alan Moore and Frank Miller. Alan Moore is a legend in the American comic book world, known as the creator of " Watchmen ." In "Watchmen," he reflected the social climate and anxieties of the time, completely overturning the concept of superheroes up to that point and creating a bold story. Frank Miller also created a superhero who struggles with the meaning of his existence in " Batman: The Dark Knight Returns ."

Both works were published in the same year, and are often spoken of as masterpieces that reinterpreted comic culture, which had previously been regarded as popular entertainment for children, from a modern perspective, elevating it to the level of literature.

Mark Millar has learned a lot from their works and has often reflected them in his own work. Having worked on several projects for Marvel and DC, balancing their literary perspective with their original entertainment value, Mark has grown to the point where he launched his own creator line called "Millarworld" in 2004. The brand's first work was "Wanted," which was also made into a movie starring James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie.

Many of his books have also been made into films, including " Captain America: Civil War " (2016) and " Logan " (2017). His most famous work, "Kick-Ass," contains an autobiographical episode.

Mark was born and raised in Coatbridge in the mid-west of Scotland. His hobby in high school was comic books, but he says that comic book culture had not yet gained widespread acceptance back then, and being into comics was more uncool than it is now.

He even designed costumes with his fellow comic book friends, and at one point seriously aspired to be a superhero. He was terrible at both studying and sports, and the world of comic books was his only purpose in life. His youth is exactly like that of Dave in the movie. Furthermore, Mark lost his mother at a young age, just like Dave in the movie. In other words, Dave in the movie is a spitting image of Mark Millar, and the movie is also a semi-autobiographical episode of Mark.
